Schiffini today
After eighty years’ activity, Schiffini’s present image is certainly not the result of a secret reciper magic formulas. It is the fruit of a vision founded on a few, solid points of strength with roots in the authenticity and substance of the company’s values.
The first of these values is Schiffini’s ownership and management, handed down through generations of the Schiffini family; the company is currently run by the brothers Carlo and Enrico. Another trait which distinguishes it from the rest of the market is the business acumen that has made Schiffini one of the rare Italian or European companies operating on a full-cycle basis, from concept and design to production and distribution. Schiffini’s kitchens are the result of the clear managerial vision and consistent strategies of this design-driven firm.
It was precisely this sensitivity that enabled a long association with Vico Magistretti, one of the grand masters of Italian Design. This long partnership’s pivotal importance left its mark not only on the company’s evolution, but also on kitchen design itself. It introduced great innovations in aesthetics and design and, above all, to the whole kitchen concept, which is still the distinguishing factor of Schiffini’s designs.
Today as yesterday, Schiffini’s mission is to made practical kitchens which are also beautiful but do not give in to the foibles of fashion and passing fads. And today as yesterday, the choice of design-orientated collaborative efforts is always founded on Schiffini’s unique cultural and strategic vision. A far-sighted policy centred on the entrepreneur’s role and backed by a team of external professionals, especially, today, Ludovica & Roberto Palomba and Giuliano Giaroli. The starting point of a common trajectory which each time has engendered a major design project and which has proved to be a key success factor for a company that rises to the challenge of the global market, sustained by the continuity of its solid, proven experience, which does not however mean just tradition.
Schiffini displays its modernity and dynamism first and foremost through a broad range of products with wide, international appeal and the ability to meet varying needs. Each product is not in fact a different version of a base model, but is created with its own individual cultural and design identity.
True to this philosophy, the current versions of collections such as Solaro, Soviore and Cinqueterre, designed by Magistretti between 1995 and 2002, are the result of a restyling of the lines using newly-designed elements which nonetheless respect the original models’ characteristics. New collections, such as Spezie and G.Box, exude Schiffini’s philosophy not only in their aesthetic and design features, but above all through their functionality and new-concept elements carefully designed - in every tiny detail - to allow full use of the internal space and to provide high-quality furnishing solutions in either spacious or compact settings. A flexible yet well-organised design concept which even allows for solutions that draw on mixtures of more than one collection, offering various advantages for the customer, not least from an economic point of view.
